Despite the Government’s efforts to adopt a learner-centered and new practical approach to teaching science, reading materials that promote the practical teaching and learning of science remain few in primary schools. STI is therefore seeking partnerships and resources that will make these books available to all schools especially those in disadvantaged and vulnerable communities.
1. Stimulate the interest of learners in science at all levels by engaging them in activities that show everyday life application of science.
2. Encourage students to pursue science at higher levels of education by creating an appreciation of science using field experiences.
3. Develop numerous skills in Learners by engaging them in activities that foster the manipulation of information, creativity, reasoning, and deduction.
4. Encourage the teaching of science using local material substitutes in case the usual laboratory equipment and reagents are lacking or too expensive.
