Science Teacher Initiative

Promoting Quality Science Education in Africa

Science Teachers' Initiative (STI) is a Non-Governmental and Not-For-Profit organisation made up of experienced science teachers working together to improve the quality of education in Africa. STI aims at promoting the use of scientific knowledge, innovation, and research in solving socio-economic challenges. We do this by developing practical reading/learning materials, promoting numeracy and literacy, retooling teachers in practical science teaching, and increasing access to inclusive quality education.

STI works closely in partnership with education ministries of different countries in Africa to improve the quality of education. In 2019, our programs had expanded to include environmental education, health, and HIV/AIDS, WASH, school self help projects, and child protection.
